Max Steel

Max Steel is a CGI-animated science fiction action series that originally broadcast from February 25, 2000, to January 15, 2002. It was inspired by the Mattel action figure of the same name. The show spanned three seasons with a total of thirty-five episodes, targeting a young male audience aged eight to twelve. From 2004 to 2012, a series of direct-to-DVD films continued the story of the main character, though only the first film maintained the series’ original continuity. After “Endangered Species,” the storyline was changed. “Endangered Species” was the sole film released in the United States, with subsequent films being distributed in Latin America. The series featured voice talents like Chi McBride and Christian Campbell, Neve Campbell’s older brother, along with famous athletes such as Tony Hawk.

Following the bankruptcy of Netter Digital and Foundation Imaging, Mainframe Entertainment took over production for the third season and the films. The series concluded with the episode “Truth Be Told,” which aired on January 15, 2002. Max Steel was notable for being the first computer-generated series to be shown on Kids’ WB.

A reboot of the series is currently airing on Disney XD, though many characters and storylines have been significantly changed or removed.
