Desperate Housewives
Desperate Housewives is a blend of comedy, drama, and mystery in an American TV series crafted by Marc Cherry, with ABC Studios and Cherry Productions at the helm. It was broadcast on ABC every Sunday at 9 P.M. Eastern/8 P.M. Central, running from October 3, 2004, to May 13, 2012. Marc Cherry, the executive producer, also took on the role of showrunner. From the fourth season onward, the executive production team expanded to include Bob Daily, George W. Perkins, John Pardee, Joey Murphy, David Grossman, and Larry Shaw.
The series is primarily set on Wisteria Lane, located in the fictional town of Fairview within the imaginary Eagle State. It chronicles the lives of several women, narrated by a deceased neighbor who took her own life in the opening episode. Spanning eight seasons, the plot unfolds over thirteen years, covering the periods from 2004 to 2008 and later from 2013 to 2017. The women navigate personal and familial challenges while uncovering the secrets, crimes, and mysteries lurking beneath the façade of their seemingly idyllic suburban community.
The show boasts a diverse ensemble cast, led by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, and Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong provides the voiceover as the late Mary Alice Young, occasionally appearing in flashbacks or dream sequences.
