Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom is known for his blunt and unfiltered demeanor. After being relegated to the traffic division for five years due to his inappropriate conduct, he has made a comeback to head Portland’s newly established Special Crimes Unit. Charged with handling the city’s most delicate and critical investigations, he is determined to crack each case while struggling, and often failing, to amend his own self-destructive tendencies. This series is inspired by the popular books by acclaimed Swedish criminologist and author Leif G.W. Persson.
