In this dark comedy, a botched heist captures the lively spirit of immigrant lads in Brooklyn and the Bronx, who are low on employment and funds but high on drinking. James, having exhausted all his options and now without a job or a wife, joins his friend Eoin on a task at the racetrack for the cunning storyteller Timmy Thomas. Their inept attempt at deception, by two who couldn’t recognize a winning hand, lands them in deep trouble with a group of gangsters. The plot thickens when a daring woman, charmed by the Irish accent and eager for money, takes an interest in James.
