Mali’s cultural essence is deeply rooted in its music. However, this heritage is under threat from radical Islamist forces. Accompanied by prominent figures in Malian Global Pop, such as Fatoumata Diawara, Bassekou Kouyaté, Master Soumy, and Ahmed Ag Kaedi, we set off on a musical expedition to the turbulent core of Mali. Will their melodies have the power to bring harmony to the nation?
