Magic Tree House is a Japanese animated drama film from 2011, inspired by the American children’s fantasy book series with the same title. Directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, the screenplay was adapted by Ichiro Okouchi from the Japanese edition of the Magic Tree House novels. The film features Keiko Kitagawa in the role of Jack and young actress Mana Ashida as Annie. It premiered at the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival on October 23, 2011, and was later shown in theaters across Japan starting January 7, 2012.
