Over the last 26 years, 16 attempts have been made to conquer one of Pakistan’s towering 8,000-meter peaks during the winter season, all without success. However, on February 2, 2011, Simone Moro, Denis Urubko, and Cory Richards achieved this remarkable feat. Cory Richards now holds the distinction of being the only American to reach the summit of an 8,000-meter peak in winter. The expedition was perilous and nearly cost them their lives. Throughout the journey, Cory documented their harrowing experience with a small camera, capturing the raw and unfiltered reality of their adventure.
